He live in Benton in his early life, Illinois, and grew up in a large home on South Main Street. His father name was Daniel Malkovich he was a state conservation director and publisher of Outdoor Illinois.
He start his career In 1976 as an actor, he became a charter member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois.
john Malkovich was married to Glenne Headly, from 1982 to 1988. They divorced and Malkovich then dated Michelle Pfeiffer, his co-star in Dangerous Liaisons. He later become his long-term partner Nicoletta Peyran on the set of The Sheltering Sky in 1989. They have two children; Amandine born 1990 and Lowey wich born in 1992).
